This sketch depicts the human figure porportionately dawn. This is part of a whole array of scientific sketchs done by Da' Vinci. These sketches of human anatonmy would spark medical advances and paved the way for modern medicine.

This fairly accurate drawing of the human skeleton, dated around 1400's showed that people were starting to advance and question what the Roman scholars had written down about anatomy and other statements about the human body and science.

The astrolabe, was used by sailors to determine their lattitude at sea. This and many other instuments used at sea gave sailors the courage to sail off beyond charted waters and to discover new lands.
